This is wildly detailed.
That’s the most amazing quilt I’ve ever seen. It’s a family heirloom….
I’m going to borrow it, just for a photo I promise
Holy crap. That thing is awesome!
Dude that blanket is awesome! But for real, you totally need to let the baby use it. How could you deny him/her this awesomeness??
I nominate grandma. G of the year, Most valuable family member, Key player of the game, leader of the band…….. Basically, Grandma is a badass.
I know this was a one off for her grandkid but I would buy one as a gift so fast.
This is incredible.
That is super cool! Great Maw Maw that kiddos got!
It’s gorgeous.
Your mom is the bomb of quilt making. Absolutely beautiful!
I would be so honored to have that!! Your mom is amazing!!!
Wow. Beautiful.
Wow that is really impressive.. I wonder how long it took
So beautiful. I also think that the person to whom it was given should use it. They will understand that it’s special and needs to be treated with respect. Otherwise it might end up in a plastic tote in 20 years. This can be showcased via a beautiful photograph large enough to fill half a wall. People drive their Maseratis, don’t they?
I’m a quilter and this is *bitchin’*.

But have you ever read the short story “Everyday Use”?
This is AMAZING. I’m sure there are a lot of people willing to drop some serious cash for something like it.
Sew cute.
But seriously that is a work of art your mom is very talented and creative.
This is beautiful
What an absolute labor of love! It’s amazing!
Platform 9 3/1
As a person whose family quilts – the best quilt is a used quilt
It’s too beautiful to stay put away untouched! Add memories and life to it!
It’s too bad about the baby.I would have loved to be wrapped up in such a blanket.
How long did that quilt take to make?
[Could have sworn I’d seen this before](https://www.google.com/search?q=harry+potter+bookcase+quilt&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwiQvOmn0ov2AhVjzaACHWcLCDQQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=harry+potter+bookcase+quilt&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQAzIFCAAQgAQyBQgAEIAEMgQIABAYOgcIIxDvAxAnOgQIABBDOgoIIxDvAxCwAhAnOgQIABANOgYIABAHEB5QjgpYjCRghChoAHAAeAGAAbYCiAG5HZIBCDAuMTMuNS4xmAEAoAEBwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=x9EQYtC8HuOag8UP55agoAM&bih=695&biw=393&prmd=sinv). Turns out they are quite common. OP’s is crazy detailed though
We have one of those. A quilt my great grandmother made has been in a tub for 10 years no one has ever used it.
That’s amazing. Gotta let baby snug up in it. Whats the point of an unused quilt?
Who decided the baby is not allowed to touch it? Personally, I would totally use it for the baby. One day that baby would look back at it and know how much grandma loved him/her. But, only if it was actually used for the baby. Life is totally too short to save things for “one day”.
Use it. You will love it more if it is used.
You will have memories of your baby in the blanket your mother made.
Having it on a wall like that is nice. But it will be remembered as a piece of furniture. Not some connected to you three.
Wow! Such a work of art. How long did it take her to complete this?
I want one.
Nice work! Your mom has great talent for quilting.
Beautiful!
Use the quilt. That is what it is for. Your mom didn’t make it for the wall she made it for your kid, and for memories.
Can your mom make me…I mean my son one too?
Wow!!!!!!!!
I really like the burrowing owls tunneling up from the bottom
I will Pay anything for your mom to make me one too
This is so fucking gorgeous.
I wish I could still enjoy the series but even so your mom is an artist. If she has other textiles she should consider finding a gallery that’ll show her work off.
I enjoyed the HP books and movies but I’m hardly a die-hard fan, yet even I want this quilt! Beautifully done.
So your mom makes a great quilt for your child, and you steal the quilt cause it’s too good for your child?
Wow she did an amazing job. That is priceless
OMG it’s AWESOME, wrap the baby in that magical artifact every chance you get. All the other times, wrap yourself in it. That is some beautiful, loving, magical stuff.
I absolutely love it!
But, she wants it to be used. She wants it to be loved and drug around the house. When you make something with that much love, I firmly believe that the love is woven into the fibers and wrapped around the baby.
I make crochet blankets and my absolute favorite thing is to get pictures of baby all wrapped up and toddler dragging it around. I love the dirt stains and rough edges.
My mom’s a quilter, she made baby quilts. We kept them hung up or in storage until baby was 3 or 4. Literal *babies* can’t go an hour without getting piss, shit, or spitup on whatever they’re wrapped in. Wrap her in something that can go through the washer three times a week without starting to come apart. Handmade quilts are washed by themselves and then line-dried with care, something that is time consuming to do once every couple months, let alone as frequently as a baby’s spitup calendar requires.
