The rear brakes are perfect. It’s the rest of the bike that’s questionable.
In all seriousness whatever you can afford will get you so much more bang for the buck and durability on a giant, norco or specialized (etc.) from a bike shop.
Did you ask the person, or just take it.. because that looks like a perfectly good bike, and it costs a lot less to fit rear brake pads than it does to buy a new bike… so i say you stole it and are coming up with a lot of bullshit to justify your action
