$36!!! God I miss those days. The end of the era in terms of ticket prices. I can’t afford now to see all the bands I would see in a year back in the 80s leading into the 90s.
Ticketmaster and live nation have destroyed the industry with their scams and pricing.
Saw SRV with Jeff Beck a few months before he died.
I was supposed to go to that show too. I was so pissed. I just turned 16. And my parents grounded me for drinking. They knew what I would have done up there.
Damn, the night before…..
Imagine being Eric Clapton, going on AFTER Stevie Ray. That would have sucked.
All my friends were there. And saw SRV last gig.
On a lighter note. This was Eric’s Dorothy haircut era. He had more wings than Farrah.
Fuck Eric Clapton
I think this is when SRV died…..
That’s all I’m seeing too! 36$. I really miss when concerts were affordable for all!
Man, talk about the “Day the music died”. I saw Stevie in Tulsa, April 29, 1990. His “In Step” was just a perfect album (and kudos to Double Trouble).
My first day at college. The first news that morning was that Clapton had died.
Seeing SRV live must’ve been otherworldly. He’s just incredible.
Fuck Clapton
Today it would be $360…to sit in the parking lot outside.
Robert Cray is a great blues show
Saw SRV a lot in the 80’s. Clapton too. Wrong guy got on the copter. He had more to offer the world going forward.
SRV should have been headliner.
$36 AND it includes parking? Damn. Things have changed. Also, must have been an amazing concert.
