This happened to me like every half an hour on fallout nv like the game was so fun but I couldn’t keep playing after my first play through it was too annoying
I’ve abandoned many games when things like this happen. Sleeping dogs is the most painful where a bug wouldn’t let me save and continue, now I know what a great game it is but I’ve forgotten the story. Can’t start over.
This happened to my GF at the very end of the legendary campaign of Witch Queen. We kill Savathuun, screen goes black, I get a cutscene, she gets disconnected
I’ve recently with Elden Ring have lost an accumulative five and a half hours. I got through volcano manor, I also killed 3 more bosses and I also got to the mountaintops of the giants and have to redo all of it.
I had Tales of Vesperia do this to me weirdly. Just out of the blue crashed, had to redo a bunch of side quests and then save really fast and be paranoid ever since.
Ironically had this happen on a yakuza game. For some reason my copy of yakuza 4 couldn’t save (it’d save, but there was no save file after).= so I had to use series x’s quick resume function to finish the game in “one” sitting over a few weeks
The original Skyrim release on PlayStation. It was so broken that the patches killed my frame rate to nothing and I lost an easy 100 hours. I was so mad I bought it and played on Xbox instead (like 500 hours by the time I was done). That sucked so bad I still remember it more than 10 years later
Recently happened to me with Disco Elysium. I wake up on Day 7 to find out somehow major parts of the game had reset to say Day 1. The body back up on the tree, gardener back on the bench, all the little circles had been refreshed as if I’d never pressed on them, dialogue choices as well.
I got locked out of a ton things I had already previously done. For example, I hadn’t completed a certain dialogue skill check with the dice maker but the option to kick the furnace to get her attention was no longer available so I couldn’t get her to open her screen door for me.
I had also already taken the blonde chick into custody, but there was another version of her still on the roof.
Roughly 40 hours of progress down the drain. I enjoyed the game but I’m probably not going to go back to it anytime soon, considering how little time I even have to game nowadays
Me during the final boss of Bowsers Inside Story. Not a hard boss but very annoying for the game to freeze up while I was close to winning
This happened to me like every half an hour on fallout nv like the game was so fun but I couldn’t keep playing after my first play through it was too annoying
And then it freezes again

Shoulda waited those extra five minutes 🤷
Recently when I play Splinter cell: Chaos Theory.
I had to replay the ship mission, the game doesn’t autosave after every mission.
Borderlands 2 UHD texture pack fucked me up like this
Accurate
This is too relatable to many gamers, or in my case, with Yakuza
This happened to me with Fallout New Vegas about 17 times.
Fallout 4 survival mode with no mods. Pain.
Try playing D2R on hardcore mode
I know this pain very well. Happens when you use a toaster PC to play.
The worst is when it starts to move again a millisecond before you click close

A final fantasy game once did this and corrupted the save in the process.
Had to start allllll the way over.

Subnautica

its always scary when a game freezes, since i got the isseu in scum that my game would randomly get a fatal error it always scares me
*laughs in autosave*

This moment in an infinite loop is my personal hell.
I very recently go 50 hours into a fallout:NV playthough and something happened where my game simply won’t load:(
This my past lifestyle
I actually just stop playing the game when this happens.

This gif would be better with sound and seeing Kiryu angrily leave and close the door (like it actually happened)
Really emphasize the rage quit.
Happened to me in Pokémon Gold after catching a shiny (my fault, didn’t save instantly)
I will never play fable again
oh man i hate when it does that
Bethesda Moment™️
Ironically reddit froze exactly on this post

I love Quick Resume
Playing this game now lol
or, lately, with Elden Ring, you get reminded to close the game properly when 12/14 times its gets closed it’s due to a crash.
😂👏🏾
Security breach flashbacks
Still a fun game honestly, I loved it
And now I know it’s one of those games that can crash at any time so now I’m constantly worried it will crash
I had this problem with RDR2 on the very last fight. I had to restart and let me tell you that game takes you back fucking far.
