Norm was always kind of hit or miss for me as a comedian, but the one thing I really liked that he did was clearly pull other people into the joke. More often then not, he would trust the other person to deliver the lead up to the punch line, as seen here. It was a very wholesome form of playing and goofing around that feels completely lost with a lot of modern comedians, and while he wasn’t the end-all-be-all of it, it feels like a different era with Norm.
I’m a Brit, love that as an American he still hates Thatcher, almost as much as I do.
My favourite bit from the Live show was with Fred Stoller when he talked about Albert Fish’s victims, and he kept asking Fred to refrain from laughing at Albert Fish’s victim type.
