The show premiered 30 years ago today in 1993
Great show.
love it
You shot that man I the back!
His back was to me.
“Be waitin’ for ya, Brisc!”
Just watched the pilot again and I realized that Brisco is basically wearing the “Ash from Evil Dead” outfit. Tan pants, blue shirt, etc.
Fantastic show! Easy watching.
“You must be Plato.”
“Socrates.”
“Common mistake I’m sure.”
I loved Julius Carry as Lord Bowler. Big RIPs
It was so underrated.
This was pretty much peak Bruce Campbell era. Its a shame this show didn’t keep going, or him starring in other things.
I think it ended up being a detriment to his career by spending most of the latter 90’s doing guest roles in other tv shows.
By the time he got a good starring role in Bubba Ho-Tep, he was seen as an older man.
I later realized that a throwaway joke from this show greatly improved my quality of life. At the end of some episode, Socrates announces that he’s “droppin’ his g’s” so that he’ll sound more like everyone else. I was a nerdy teenager in the midwest with impeccable diction… and few friends. I tried intentionally lowering my quality of speech and grammar, and no joke, became quite popular shortly thereafter. I’m sure I also became less of an insufferable dweeb for other reasons around the same time, but I still credit this show for at least part of that.
The man with the golden chin
Here’s something I didn’t know existed and now need in my life.
Great show!
I’ve seen you post about this show in so many subreddits today. Are you a huge fan or did you work on it?
Two things come to mind when I think of this show:
1. The memorable theme song.
2. That it aired in ‘93 right before another show having its premiere that year: The X-Files.
Loved that show!
I forgot how hot Kelly Rutherford is.
The quality of this show could never be fully explained. It’s just…great.
