Edit to add: An absolutely brilliant show. I grew up watching all their stuff, & had “The Meaning of Life” Game on PC which was also flipping fantastic.
One of the greatest sketches of all time. I even referenced it even some equally futile union negotiations just this week. Thanks Reddit for bringing this up
Those guys were absolute timeless genius, after he left the first guy just saying “stupid git” just had me laughing out loud. that simple stuff just proves the comedic genius.
Even today, what, 50 years later, this sketch just vibrates with genius. I think what I notice now is how thrilling it is to have the preposterous concept established so quickly and then immediately thwarted; you’re already asking so much of the audience to come along to a the idea of a commercial emporium for, er, interactions, and then to flip that in seconds, first with the wrong office and Chapman’s soaring invective, and then to an unsatisfying argument about arguments, it’s just dizzying. To say nothing of how perfect Cleese and Palin are in these roles, Cleese arrogant and bratty, Palin meek and grasping at the tiniest pointless victory. It’s maybe the apex of Python.
Flying Circus? IIRC

I had to do this exact part in english class
Classic
Monty Python teaching gen x the meaning of gaslighting early on
I love Monty Python! Great stuff!
And now for something completely different
Lucky guy, usually an argument costs you your house and your children nowadays
Can someone please tell me the name of the program.
You cut the [best part out](https://youtu.be/uLlv_aZjHXc?si=BZhUtGpN4TZ3Rfdn).
Life imitates art. Its looks like just modern social media.
Perfect! My kid is going through the contradiction phase, I’m gonna try to change it to argument
That abuse room was fire though.
The older I get, the more I appreciate Monty Pyrhon’s humor.
Tis only a scratch of an argument.

You vacuous, toffee-nosed, malodorous pervert!
I <3 John Cleese
Monty Python: Providing a look into what the future of ~~Twitter~~ X would be like all the way back in the ’70s.
Brilliant
Your five minutes is up.
I’d like to have an argument about the fact that subtitles ruin comic delivery.
Very nice 👍. Never seen the abuse part before
I didn’t realize that the Presidential debate for the upcoming election had already happened. Thanks for posting.
I think I need some time in the first room.
(Walks down the hall. Opens the door.)
Is this subtitles for blind people?
Palin & Cleese – The Dream team.
Back then you had to pay for it, now we have Reddit giving it away for free.
So good.😂
I came to this comment section to find one thing and one thing only. I was not disappointed.
One of the best comedy sketches of all time.
“I came here for an argument!”
“Oh, well, this is abuse.”
Has run through my mind every, single, time I’ve ever opened a comments section.
This bit is on the order of “who’s on first.” Timeless and always funny.
Stupid git

bro came for an argument and got gaslighting instead
Aw it cuts off before he gets to “getting hit on the head lessons”.
Pure comedy gold
One of my all time favourites

I have a signed photo of Michael Palin. One of my most prized possessions.
Quality that leaves a lasting impression. Missing these days. Super post.

Posting a Monty Python skit in r/funny? That’s cheating.
My all time favorite skit from flying curius. Didn’t get it as a child but as an childish adult, it’s a banger.
Annoyingly I remember Fivvr turned down my pitch or service of allowing people to yell, vent or swear at me for 5 minuites on Skype.
First time seeing this and it still resonates. And here I am spending my life arguing for free…
