Damn that nightclub in the Wii game was bumpin. Looked and sounded like a legit nightclub. Pretty well done for a Wii game.
Haha this has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time, I’d never seen this before but GoldenEye definitely has the best atmosphere of a club environment, lighting, music etc. It’s impressive even if they are just 2D sprites in the bg.
Weird how game Devs are still struggling with this in 2023, but I sort of get why.
Difficult to get a lot of NPCs in an environment without breaking frame rates, plus it would be super frustrating for a player to have to push through crowds to get anywhere or avoid queues of people waiting to take illicit substances in the toilets.
They never quite nail the music either, the NPC DJ is always going mad at the front playing some down tempo techno that doesn’t warrant that level of energy.
I’m yet to play CyberPunk, but I’m hoping that will have some good underground clubs/venues for me to visit.
As if reddit gaming members know what the inside of a real nightclub looks like.
Yeah, the Starfield nightclub feels like what an asexual, introverted, gen Z would describe what they think a real nightclub looks like. I went to karaoke bars rowdier than that. It’s amazing what talent can do even with the very limited in its time, wii console. You didn’t have to upgrade your PC just to play it.
Oh… the devs used animated black billboards for the crowd, that was GENIUS!
