2023 looks to be a very good year for Michael Fassbender. Hopefully this and *The Killer* are the beginning of a Renaissance for him. His last great movie was *Steve Jobs* and it’s been 8 years (sorry for that) since that. It’s been critical and box office flops since then.
With this and The Killler (and maybe even Kung Fury 2 if that ever gets released) coming out this year, Michael Fassbender should be getting back to starring in lots of good films.
>Directed by Academy Award Winner Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok), NEXT GOAL WINS follows the American Samoa soccer team, infamous for their brutal 31-0 FIFA loss in 2001. With the World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender) hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around in this heartfelt underdog comedy.
>Cast: Michael Fassbender, Elisabeth Moss, Oscar Kightley, Uli Latukefu, Rachel House, Kaimana, David Fane, Beulah Koale, Chris Alosio, Taika Waititi, Will Arnett, Rhys Darby
Hate everything about this trailer, takes a tremendous story and turns it into what appears to be a Happy Madison yuk-fest. Expect nothing less from Waititi now, guys lost the plot.
Stick to the documentary, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful film about community and island spirit, not this oooh fatty fell down nonsense.
Good to see Michael Fassbender back. It’s been a while
Looks promising for me.

Thor: Love & Thunder is godawful, but Ragnarok is fun and Jojo Rabbit is kind of beautiful. I’ll be seated for whatever Waititi directs.
Reminds me of Kicking and Screaming, but with adults this time. Hopefully Mike Ditka will make an appearance in this as well.
I think it looks dope.

> Frim loswr of the Teen choice award for Thor Ragnarok.
That was good joke, ngl..
Fassbender in beard looks weird, that jawline must stay clean
Goddammit, Elizabeth Moss really sours this. Everybody else looks great.
I have all the faith in non franchise Taika Waititi, the guy is a great director and storyteller.
I still love Taika, I’ll check this out.
I can’t believe they promoted Taika’s name as loser of an Academy award haha. That’s such a genius tactic.
Makes it even more hilarious that he actually won in another category for the same movie.
Don’t tell Twitter that Taika still makes good movies
Glad to see Taika return to some smaller projects.
Man, Fassy cannot keep a lid on that Kerry accent of his, no matter how much he tries.
I’m getting Cool Runnings vibes from this trailer.
looks interminable. hallmark movie level stuff here. what the hell happened to Taika

Was that Junior from the 5-0?

Ive been waiting for a glimpse of this.
Man I’ve missed Fassbender in new stuff. He just commands the room.
Come on Taika
Good to see Fassbender back. Even if he isn’t in the best projects, he still gives 100% to his craft. Can’t wait to see this movie and The Killer.
The Fassbender comeback is coming later this year with this and Fincher’s “The Killer”
The last arguably great movie he did was Steve Jobs in 2015.
Is this the start of the Fassbender-naissance?
Looks fun, but part of me is wondering why they didn’t sell it to Apple TV+ or Prime Video because this will flop in theaters
Can’t wait. Taika is a fucken legend.
I don’t know which is more bizarre: Fassbender blonde or Fassbender Blonde with a beard.
The only bad movie Taika has ever made was Love and Thunder and even it had some good stuff in it for me.
