There are things that need to be fixed everywhere in this country. It’s a great illustration of our sick obsession with guns and how they help us feel heroic… but I still want meaningful legislation.

Anyone who thinks violence in Tv/movies is the main cause of real world violence, is dumb.
Anyone who thinks it has no effect, is dumber.
He’s pretending that movies with guns and violence and vengeance are new and are part of the reason for school shootings. These kind of movies have been around always – they were around in the silent era. They were in war movies. Guns and vengeance were part of most Westerns. These same movies are shown in hundreds of countries that don’t have mass school shootings. But Columbine was 1999.
The main reason for modern day series of American mass school shootings is how easy it is for teenagers to get their hands on AR 15s and massive amounts of ammunition.
And as we all know, when other countries stopped watching Hollywood movies their rate of mass shootings plummeted.

This was pretty dumb.
As has been noted time and again, lots of countries have access to violent films and video games, have issues with mental health and whatever other issues.
Only one country has the mass proliferation of guns you see in America.
If you have a lot of guns, you’re going to have a lot of gun stuff happening.
It amazes me watching American talk shows and late night shows how people will make a long discussion about something so obvious.
So nothing will change.
More innocent kids will get torn to shreds again at some point this year.

If a leftist argues that a movie is too transphobic, Bill will make fun of them for like an hour on his show, but the second the right wing is like “movies have too many guns” he’s like “maybe they have a point”.

He has a point. If we don’t let characters smoke because impressionable kids might smoke, then surely you have to apply the same logic too letting them use lots of guns

That being said, Gun control is crucially needed
