People pay so much for that shit, the least is to threat them with respect
For those unaware, the one on the right is the non-canvas one that was shipped with the title. The one on the left is the one that they sent us for free to make up for the controversy. Can confirm since I have both. It may have been a slimy move initially, but they eventually made good on their promise. I have no ill will in that regard. Now the game, on the other hand…..
Still upset that since I didn’t have proof of purchase they never gave me the canvas one. I gave the Bethesda store rep “helping” me photos of the entire kit I purchased but said they could not verify that I was the first purchaser and I never got the canvas version.
They weren’t planning on doing anything about it.
Ah yes the great canvas wars of 2018, they ran out of canvas and went to war. soo they substituted the fallout 76 bags for a newer futuristic type of cheap fabric that the messes didn’t like & the great canvas revolution 2018 began!

I still never got my bag even after dealing with support for several months. I stopped bothering years ago now. Still pisses me off that I gave them everything they needed and I was told that it was currently in shipment. Lies.
I spent weeks telling my friends Fallout 76 was going to flop pretty hard. None of them believed me but they all refunded it.

I hadn’t actually seen pictures of these. The left one doesn’t look near as garbage as I’d heard, though it does look very underwhelming.
That was some fuckery. But I also got the Nuka Cola helmet, arguably an even more dramatic debacle. What with the product recall, I guess Gamestop couldn’t sell them so they kept dropping the price. Also, the thing is enormous, it would take up way too much inventory room. Anyway, I kept returning them and exchanging them for a new one every time they dropped the price.
But since they sent a proper bag after talk of a class action was floating around, I now have a bag for each helmet.
How did you end up getting the actual canvas bag?

If i remember correctly, Bethesda gifted some of the higher quality merch to some youtubers, which made the level of outrage and disgust even bigger

I must say, i picked up 76 a few weeks ago for like 10 bucks. Absolutely worth it, the game is quite fun. Has it’s issues, of course but isn’t as bad as all the videos claimed anymore.

That was a good lesson for people to never preorder a Bethesda collectors edition game.
Yep just another way these companies keep milking the fans. So glad I stopped buying collectors editions years ago. They were just never that good in the end. I only buy the most basic versions of games now. Never get season passes, avoid in game real money stores and if I can wait 3 months get it on discount with a decent level of patching. Majority of games are cheaper and run better 6 months after release.

I’d be interested if any one used either of them. They were such a weird shape to hold the helmet, that both of mine are now rolled up in the closet, the same place since I opened the packed.
I know a lot of ppl crapped on this – mainly due to kotaku or other interest groups trying to get some hate click bate rolling. But all other items beside the helmet was kinda just junk for me. The helmet being still under my TV as a trophy peice.

2018 did have tariffs on canvas and other fabrics like it. That could have played a part.
