I recently got a hold of a fat PS3 that was never connected to the Internet and had Linux installed on it. Came from some firm using it for software development and just had it packaged, back in the box, and shelved for the last 15 years. The only thing that was removed from the packaging was the unit itself, cables and everything else were still in plastic. …so naturally I replaced the HDD and modded it lol.
I traded in my Xbox 360 to a GameStop a couple years back. Same thing, never been online so it has never updated. When the GameStop employee booted it up to check if it worked he seemed to get some joy from it.
Can’t believe how Xbox had such a simple and effective UI like this for the 360 and flushed it all down the toilet. The way it’s progressively gotten worse over the years drives me mad. The current UI for Xbox One is so fucking awful. The amount of tedium navigating it gives me a headache. Everything is hidden behind layers behind layers.
Blades interface was the best. NXE and NXU or whatever the third one was called just chugged because it wasn’t made for the RAM limitations. Same with the PSN store update on PS3.
Until recently I started minecraft on my 360 after a couple years and it still had the tutorial with the castle and the huge minecraft sign that’s out of wool
Sheee
I got mine, launched it, had to update it and went straight into the new interface never seeing this one again. Yet i remember this screen like it was yesterday
*auto updates*
*NOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo*
This UI was something else
I actually really enjoyed the Blade UI.
Never forget
Aw God, this brings back so many memories!
I got an elite in 2009 but it was long after the blade menu so never got to use it.
Or played?
My personal favorite UI in any console.

aw man the slices, I remember that long ago
Oh I can still hear the sound of scrolling quickly across the tabs
This UI is so much better than what it is now. God I miss that.

The slides!!! The good old slides… man I miss them so much. Thank you for this op! Thats one nostalgia trip for me!
With it never being updated, might be a safe bet that this is a rgh exploitable box
So fast, so smooth. You knew exactly where things were and could just jump into it
thats worth something in the modding community. pretty sure you could jtag it
#bringbackblades
I can still hear the whooshing sounds
Jtag time.
Gratz on the very likely moddable 360. I unknowingly updated mine off the blades before realizing what a mistake that was.
A window into another time!
