Beautiful photo. It really captured the moment very well. Truly one of the “a picture is worth a thousand words” type of photo. Both of you are leaning the same direction. She has that mama bear vibe, but just being watchful enough to not be on high alert. She’s a protector, and you obviously felt safe and secure in her presence.

Beautiful picture. Happy to hear about her success in life also. I also wanted to point out that people were more mature at younger ages back then. It was how people were raised so that might have helped her a little bit. A 16 year old today is much more sheltered and pampered than a 16 year old 50 some years ago.

My mom and dad helped one of my dad’s students when she found out she was pregnant in the mid 70s. They gave good advice but the girl ended up in a shotgun wedding because the parents were pissed. 20 years later my dad had to go testify in their annulment.

My mum had me at a similar age. It’s a lot of responsibility at that age, especially with all the social stigma and pressure that being a teenage parent carries. Even worse for those who weren’t married on top of it all, as most teen moms tend to be!
Anybody who can still be a good parent under such circumstance deserves praise – I certainly couldn’t have managed at that age (heck, I don’t even think I could manage now!)
