They met when they were in their mid-teens and my grandad was drinking in the local pub whilst working with the merchant navy.
They were together until my nan died 9 years ago today. They had four children who were raised Catholic.
They never spoke of politics or religion and spent their lives in a council house in a English village on the river Thames.
Such a cute couple!
