My great-great-grandfather’s third wedding. He had 7 kids, she had 6, together they had 4 more. They lived in “Indian Territory, Oklahoma.” (4 July 1901)

7 + 6 + 4 = 17.
They could have manned a modest pirate ship, parents included.
Bless their hearts – the looks on their faces are like ‘Well, we’re done. That’s it. We’ll get to sleep when Jesus takes us home.’ Lol!
Very cool picture!
He wore out wives pretty good. Poor women!
I too have an ancestor that was married twice(that we know of). Had lots of kids with both. I said that we know of because almost every man in the family had children with women who weren’t their wives as well. My dad was one of those children.
No shoes on a lot of those feet! That photo was a special expense, they’d be happy you have it still.
So touching to know that everyone on this photo is long dead. Hope they had a good life.
Cool picture. Any idea whereabouts? A lot of German speaking peoples came to OK and had enough kids to run a farm, and they tended towards settling in with their own cultural communities. A few examples I’ve seen are mostly Swedes out in NW OK (Enid out to the panhandle), Czechs in the center of the state(Prague, Yukon, OKC), and Germans in the NE (Tulsa, Bartlesville, Claremore), large Anabaptist and jump church communities too
