My great great grandfather owned a plane he named after his daughter; the Winnie May. His friend and personal pilot Wiley Post became the first man to fly solo around the world. This is the last picture taken of him and Will Rogers before they crashed in Alaska. August 15th 1935. Wiley had one eye.

Some of Wiley Post other accomplishments were becoming the first pilot to fly in the jet stream. He had to develop the first ever pressurized suit to allow him to fly at those altitudes which eventually became a space suits. He also competed against Howard Hughes the richest man in the world setting records for who could fly the fastest around the world. He accomplished all of this with one eye that he lost in an oil field accident.
Wouldn’t depth perception be a pretty vital thing for a pilot to have?
