And if you though there was nothing on the prairies now. Imagine how desolate it was then.
My brain just filled in the tablet that those two girls are so _clearly_ holding. Then I remembered it was the 60s.
I rode one of these older observation cars once from eastern Washington to Miles City, Montana. Sat all the way forward for the best legroom. Had my saddle and .30-30 in the scabbard on the floor to the outside seat in the row… probably can’t do that nowadays.
Grandad in the back row. Great grandma sitting next to your grandma. Auntie playing it cool next to mom.
Amtrak trains look the same today.
