Hey, I’m half Cherokee half irish
A true American, A Native Immigrant!
My family is Sioux and we have a lot of Irish mixing as well! Like even some green, blue eyes and red hair pop up!
I just think that in the late 1800s/early 1900s the mass emigration from Ireland to the US brought a lot of Irish all over the US, then when they arrived they were these secondary citizens that faced a lot of racism, so they found community with natives.
It’s obviously more complex and nuanced than that, but I did get to go to Ireland this year and visit there emigration museum and it spoke about this phenomenon!
