Whoa. Is it warm in here all of a sudden?!?
9th anniversary of his passing today, I spent more time around at his house than he i did my own. He’d always have a massive pot of tomato and beef bones going all day, every day. I didn’t appreciate Italian food then, but it always smelt great and I’d come home smelling of parmesan XD
I remember his pantry full of cured meats, jared dried tomatoes, olives and bread and cakes, often panettone. I always found it odd, as nobody else i knew and even to this day, had a pantry with food stoked in it, I came to find it was a very common thing in Italy, especially among the older generations.
He’d always have black coffee, the strongest thing I’d ever smelt or tasted and the reason to this day I still dislike coffee.
We’d watch a lot of TV as i spent a lot of time there, he had a TV package that was all nothing but Italian channels, surprisingly a lot of card readers on there telling peoplrs fortunes of the day and live Catholic church worship, but I stuck mostly to the cartoons, I watched so many cartoons in Italian, it wasn’t till was older that I realised Tom & Jerry wasn’t an Italian cartoon, but just a dubbed one I was watching all those years.
Slater
Does he have a accent?
