My game Mage & Monsters releases on steam today! It is an auto battler where you create an army and use spells while it fights for you.

Is this the one spiff did a video on?
That the one Stephanie Stirling is doing some of the writing for? If so, I’m fucking in!
Is there any tactical world map or larger progression like in Dominions or Conquest of Elysium?
games like these are always p cool.
how do you win and how do you lose?
Reminds me of the early 90s game Dominus – cool
This looks awesome, congratulations!
Yesterday i played your demo for a few hours
early extra rewards are abuseable to stack gold
summon unit spells are even more overpowered than damage spells (short cooldown means they can be cast twice per fight or even 3x without any spell cooldown reduction upgrades)
Game was honestly basically unloseable if you used spells and bought any units at all with SOME upgrades.
I think you should crank the difficulty up a bit, the game is currently too easy and therefore the replayability low, since you can test the 3 ways to play one after another since you wont fail. Then you are done and what else is there to do.
I think you should also increase the variety of units or what sets them apart. Currently all melee feels the same
If they game would go a bit longer with a bit more options for higher tier stuff, it would be even more fun
And if you could position your units before the fight, that would maybe also make it more interesting, currently most higher-level fast-attack not-tanky melee units run faster or just as fast as the tanky melee units, meaning they facetank and die first. Not fun to watch youe tanks be the last thing standing, despite them only having 20% to 30% more hp than your “fragile” melee units
All in all a really solid, short but fun experience, spent 2-3h on it and dont regret it.
Hey! I saw Splattercat review this! Looks fun!
Picked it up today!
Great game
