Damn, so brave.
My recently acquired cat was an outdoor cat for *many* years, and he has an RFID door so he can come and go as he likes. Trying to make him inside-only…didn’t go particularly well, and he’s 13 or 14, so we compromised. I do the smart home thing, so I put a sensor on his door, and have a smart speaker announce when the door is opened, and I also get a notification on my phone. Since it turned cold, I’ll get a notification that the door has been opened, then another 5 or 10 seconds later that it’s opened again. Outdoors for most of his life or not, kitty is clearly not a fan of winter.
