He left Don Kings share on the flor..
This often reposted picture was on the cover of the February 24th, 1964 issue of Sports Illustrated. Here is a quote from Ali in the’ssue:
>And jive is the reason they took my picture looking at $1 million in cold cash [see cover]. That’s how much money my fists and my mouth will have earned by the time my fight with Liston is over.
The fight took place on Febraury 25th, 1964. Ali won the fight and collected a purse of $464,595 which was by a large margin the largest purse of his career at that point and made his total purse earnings $697,715.
Misleading title. This picture was the cover of the February 24th 1964 sports illustrated in which ali talks of his million dollar get away. He was quite wealthy, but that’s not his money.
Btw there’s a creepy guy in the background, and this is a repost.
All of a sudden Cashless Clay was no more.
Wtf is up with that dude behind him? Is that The phantom? lmao
