There’s a story that this was a setup so Ali could steal the limelight from Ronald Reagan and get some payback after Ronny denied Ali’s California boxing license in 1970.
Not dissing Ali here. Back in the day, before Instagram, celebs got back on the map when things like this happened. Rev. Jessie Jackson negotiated the release of an American airman in Syria around the time he ran for President, but would go on to negotiate the release of many hostages over the years. Howard Stern rescued some dude from Jumping off the G. W. Bridge (staged?).
Now HERE is a real hero. Someone we can all look up to. Was he perfect? No, but he tried to do the right thing. He was in perfect condition, and he was smart. I always thought that is what they hated about him. He was smart enough to see the bullshit and call them on it. We need more like him.
he was such a wonderful human being.
The Greatest

I can’t recall a single negative thing about him. A wonderful person.
Muhammad Ali also rescued hostages for the US, diplomatically of course.
Resisting the draft was an enormous act of courage and he paid a huge price for that. And he was not wrong.
And he did jail time for refusing to be drafted. I love that man so much. He helped people and refused to be a government tool.

History judges those on the side of humanity positively. A man who made his living with his fists showed us violence is not the answer.

Muhammad Ali: *I don’t want to kill people, I just want to beat them up*
U.S. Government: *Well if you don’t kill them, we won’t let you beat them up*
– George Carlin (paraphrasing)
That man was Biz Markie

This is on the first floor, and he is trying to get away from Ali because he accidentally said frosted flakes are the greatest.
