That’s cool, although I feel like it could kinda spoil the game, like when I played the first time, part of what made the center of the map so interesting is that I had no idea what lies there
Thats awesome. Miss the days when you got maps and posters in game cases
Ah, yes, my fetish buffet
Love this
I’m not one personally for gaming related ‘stuff’ but this does hit me right in the nostalgia.
I’d forgotten how much the mountain took up the island! God I miss this type of game, where you had to actually explore for yourself rather than have your hand held the whole way through
Amazing
Probably my favorite gaming memories other than Halo from this era. The combat system was absolute garbage but damn if everything else wasn’t awesome. The music was great. The NPC interactions for the time were awesome. The rare loot was actually cool ass stuff. The story was pretty interesting.
Idk to me it feels like although combat got better the actual “everything else” of Oblivion and Skyrim just absolutely never reached this level again.
I had the original game on the original Xbox. I put in over 1000 hours on that game disk. Over my travels, I marked the location of good loot all over the map the game came with. I had a neat legend written on the side with numbered markers on the map. I miss that map so much! It’s been like 18 years now.
It really sucks that maps like this are so rare to get with a game now.
Now only if they could add a actual map of cities in starfield
I remember it being huge but it actually looks kind of tiny now compared to some game maps these days.
T’was a bleak isle…
I can hear the cliff racers by just looking at this map. Please make it stop.
I collect old game maps and stuff like this I love them so much. Someday when I have more wall space they will all be hung in frames.
I feel you! Now all we get is a digital instruction manual for our imaginary bookshelf!
Why does the hero from “The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind” always carry a map of Morrowind with him?
Because even after hundreds of hours of play, he still can’t find his way out of Balmora without her!
Medieval II Total War AND Morrowind on the same day. Thanks r/gaming!
Don’t you know you’re not allowed to like Bethesda on this sub?
Dude I can’t tell you how often I had to look at this map to figure out where the hell I was or where the hell I was supposed to be going when playing Morrowind.
I loved it. Felt like I had to play the game in 4 dimensions. This paper map was up on my wall in my old room the entire time I was addicted to this game.
I had this map hanging on my bedroom wall up until the point I moved out of my Dad’s house to live on my own in 2006. This hit me right in the feels. I loved Morrowind so much. Easily my favorite Elder Scrolls game!
Brings back memories
This was a game that made you fucking earn your progress
I love my map. It had notes and item locations and important quest info scrawled all over it. Having to actually use it alongside the game to find quest objectives was a real treat we don’t get anymore.
I can still see the island with the dragon bone Armour
Loved it when a game came with a canvas map. EverQuest did the same. It just made it a complete package for me. Not (download the map here) … taking time and effort for the collectors and make it an experience.
Just like Starfield!
I didn’t know they added the expansions to the map! Mine only has core Vvardenfel. I also have my maps for Baldur’s Gate (1) around. I always wanted to frame them.
I remember a friend gifted me the game guide and it came with a map. I loved going through it when I wasn’t able to play. The world seemed to massive.
Only utilizing Auto saves screwed me over a few times though. I remember accidently killing someone I shouldn’t have and I lost several hours. The other time I became a vampire and accidently passed time outside. It would always load me into death. I ended up giving up on that save I think.
Mournhold. City of light. City of magic.
This map was so detailed we discovered alot of hidden secrets, shrines, shipwrecks, etc because of it. Going to visit the parents and try to dig ours out now. By the end we’d added notes and marks all over it
This is actually awesome. I’m currently playing through Morrowind and seeing a map with color like this makes me love it even more.
