my friend met her once.
My friend worked for a sheet metal union in the SF bay area about 20 years ago. They got a job at a big house in Woodside, so they sent my friend there one afternoon. Before getting to the job, the boss tells my friend that the house belongs to Michelle Pfeiffer, she will NOT be at the house, only enter one side of the house, the other side will be locked down- there are a few dogs there that are on property so don’t go to the other side of the house.
My friend gets there start setting up and starts getting to work when all of a sudden 3 dogs run up to him barking. My friend is a dog person, so he gets pumped and starts talking to the dogs and getting them to come up to him and he gets down on the ground and starts playing with them – all of a sudden Michelle Pfeiffer comes running around the side of the house. She’s super apologetic for the dogs getting out, forgetting about having someone come to the house, she wasn’t even going to be at the house today.
My friend is NOT star struck at all, and just keeps playing with the dogs. So my friend asks what are their names, how old are they? So, she starts chatting with my friend about the dogs. They were all rescues. My friend is like, This is awesome, This made my day I love dogs I’m a dog person – to which Michelle Pfeiffer says: “oh me too, I just love dogs – huge dog person.” and my friend… finally looks at Michelle Pfeiffer and says: “oh really, I thought you were a Cat… woman…” and does a stupid smile.
She takes a deep breath in like… fuckin guy, she stops talking to him all together just snaps her fingers and calls her dogs and they run after her and my friend is like. fuck, did I just lose my job?
He gets home, calls everyone and tells them the story, we of course love it and love him for going through with the joke.
So Michelle Pfeiffer is really nice, she loves to rescue dogs from the pound – but don’t ever make a pun at her. She has no time for that shit.
