While I didn’t get much from this trailer, one way or the other, it’s Garland. That’s been quality for me so far.
Also, looking at IMDB, whatever the weird shit is this: Halo: Alex Garland was paid $1 million by Microsoft to write an adaptation of the popular game. Microsoft then sold the script to Universal for $10 million.
Wasn’t there a tv show coming out of this too? Or is the tv show based on this script? Or is this script going to be made as a movie of it’s own?
I think she’s blaming herself for her husband’s death maybe urging him to convert faith and is now haunted by it; though I hope it’s deeper than that. Can’t wait to see it and know for sure
Really hope this isn’t just another “horror as a metaphor for grief/trauma” because it’s become predictable at this point, plus Garland essentially tackled those themes and ideas in Annihilation so I hope he doesn’t end up covering the same ground. Still really excited for this, and I’m loving the richer colour palette and visual ideas already.

A24? Alex Garland?
r/movies eating good.
finally a movie just for the fellas
Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley no less
Damn that looks terrifying
This looks…really weird and unnerving…I’m so in
What is going on? I’m sold
Same composers from Annihilation, Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury. Loved the score of that movie and excited for this one.
All my homies love Alex Garland
In my veins, please. Yes, right here.
Ahhh just guys bein dudes
Sounds like a fox’s call in some places… and then maybe an actual woman’s scream in others. They’re really tapping into my 2 AM anxieties.
I guess this isn’t scifi which is a detour for garland. Either way I’m there and ready to get fucked up!
Trailer did show the whole plot. Unwatchable.

Sry to possibly slightly derail the thread.
“What’s so scary about a dark tunnel?”
*figure stands up at the end*
“FUCK THAT!”
Looks very uh…existential. Also, best delivery of a whispered “what the fuh” I think.
Alex Garland *and* Jessie Buckley? Sign me up.
Was that a snake with the title at the end? I’m so intrigued by this.
What I gathered from watching the trailer with no sound:
Gonna be a lot of walking in straight lines in this film.
Anyone else think that “AHH” echoing throughout the trailer got irritating really fast?
I know the ending is gonna go feral
NICE. You don’t often see an emphasis on the color green in films these days.
>A24
We know
Sign me up for anything involving Jessie Buckley and/or Alex Garland! (especially if it looks weird as fuck)
The carved face on the altar is a Green Man so I’m anticipating some old school English Pagan mysticism.
Some serious anxiety in that last shot. I’d freak out if someone started chasing me from the other side of a dark tunnel.
Even the trailer made me feel uneasy. can’t wait
Men men men men manly men men men
It looks really cool. I’m just praying that it doesn’t all turn out to be in her head.
The film is just 110 minutes of vignettes likes the trailer. Woman followed by man, staccato piano keys.
Just corrected whatever weirdo downvoted every comment lol
I don’t know what it is about A24 trailers now that each new one feels more and more like a parody of an A24 trailer.
Sooooooooooo….I got nothing from this trailer. What is happening here?
meh.
Not really sure what everyone else is seeing in this besides having expectations from prior movies. This was extremely generic.
So another horror movie that is just a metaphor for mental illnes/grief? Sign me up
In tights…..
wtf Is this really a movie about men being the monsters? A little on the nose right?
lmao. Finally a movie made for r/TwoXChromosomes
The subtitle will be “… am I right?”
I look forward to pretending I understood the movie when discussing it with friends.
What a title. No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative. It gets the people going.
Looks great

Also that coat looks so nice
A24 pitch meeting:
“Okay, so imagine…an English country side.”
“Go on.”
“A woman.”
“Yes.”
“She’s mourning.”
“They always do.”
“She’s there, but there’s these…”
“Oh, let me guess. Ghosts!”
“No.”
“Phantoms.”
“No.”
“Werewolves.”
“No.”
“Zombies.”
“No. *Men*.”
“Holy shit that’s scary. Especially for a woman.”
Ahh COVID era films.. where everyone is like 20 feet away from everyone else.

FINALLY. I’ve been waiting for A24 to make an ambient cerebral horror movie
Meh
