I can’t believe that Carrot Top changed his hair color and got even less funny!
The Matt Rife ascension has been insane from when he really started blowing up to where he is now. I know he’s been doing comedy for a while now and was on Wild N Out but he has said that it didn’t really take off till he started posting to Tik Tok about a year ago. From relative obscurity to being in the same group as Tom Segura, Marlon Wayans and having your own Netflix special in a years time is crazy. Even now, if you don’t really keep up with social media, you may not have any idea who he is and be like “why does this guy have a Netflix special”
Matt Rife really came out of nowhere but from what I’ve been seeing it seems like he turned his core fanbase against him so best of luck to him moving forward.
Stealing THR’s format, only to pick the worst possible interview subjects, sure is a move.
Everyone feels like they have to have their own personal hot take on Matt Rife. Meanwhile, it isn’t a day that ends in “y” when yet another video clip of mediocre crowdwork finds its way to the front page of reddit and is treated as though it’s the pinnacle of comedy.
