I’ll never get over how good effects have come in the last ten twenty years especially for tv shows.

Like not to discount what tv used to look like but jeez it’s crazy

Doesn’t it feel like it has a weird digital look compared to Band Of Brothers? Feels like it has been color corrected to death, while BoB had a beautiful rugged film photography.

Damn, I will definitely watch this but I was hoping it would be more Band of Brothers-esque. This looks like the movie Greyhound but with planes instead of ships. I’m sure it will still be good.

i was a massive fan of Memphis Belle when i was in grade school, so yes i’m very excited for this new WW2 followup from Tom and Steven.

I’m sad to say, but I’m not keen on how this looks so far. I’m hoping it’s just a hollywoodised trailer to appeal to the masses, but it feels a far cry from the grittiness of BoB. The colour palette, cheap dialogue, and focus on one character with film star looks doesn’t give me a lot of hope tbh.

it doesn’t look that great, looks like an action over the top hollywood flick. i hope it’s more *down to earth* than it seem

    pun intended

I think people need to prepare for this to not be as good as Band of Brothers or the Pacific. In that trailer there were way too many hero speeches and hero moments for this to feel authentic. I feel like it will be closer to Pearl Harbor than it will the other two.

At no point did Major Winters or Sledgehammer gather the troops and give some win one for the gipper speech in their respective works. The heroic moments were all so small and done so matter of factly. Even Winters’ single man bayonet charge into a division of German soldiers wasn’t preceded by some overly dramatic monologue or exchanges. He reached a logical but dangerous conclusion and he carried out the order.

With all the pretty movie stars in this trying to win an Emmy there’s no way they’d let a scene like that escape without trying to chew it up and show off some acting chops. I also doubt they let themselves portray nuanced characters. Some of the most respected and admired characters from BoB and TP did horrendous things. Killing POWs, mutilating bodies, racial slurs, and just absolute callousness towards humanity life and the ending of it. How likely is it we see a major character played by a movie star do something detestable?

I hope it’s better than I’m expecting but I think they’d be better off not reminding everyone of Band of Brothers and The Pacific and setting themselves up for direct comparisons.

Literally been waiting on this since it was announced what feels like decades ago. If it’s as good as the Pacific I’ll be very happy, if it’s as good as Band of Brothers I’ll be in ecstasy.

Super excited to see this and see the portrayal of Black WW2 pilots. I loved Band of Brothers but have not seen the Pacific yet due to hearing it was a lot more gorier (feel free to correct me if this is not the case).

    I’m shocked this exists.

It was first rumoured back in 2012, then dead in the water for so long, then the pandemic hit – it’s amazing it’s actually happening and it looks so good, I can’t wait.

Getting more Pearl Harbor than Band of Brothers from this trailer. Hopefully it’s just poor marketing and they haven’t gone patriotic war glory bullshit over the veneration and respect the last 2 series had.

To those comparing the colors to Band of Brothers, I feel the earthy tones worked for BoB and love the vibrant colors, especially the blues of the sky in Masters of the Air. Just beautiful.
