Marion and Norman’s conversation in Psycho: One of my favorite dialog scenes ever. Every line is so crucial and telling, packed with subtext, warnings, symbolism, psychology… perfection.

Great description of this scene.
I forgot what a great scene this was
I just watched the clip. So much subtext *chefkiss*
Oooo yes!!! One of my favorite things to say is: “the expression eating like a bird is a fal, fal, falsity”…. (along with my other favorite, “But you are Blanche, you are in that chair!”) —and then people look at you like you’re crazy. So glad someone else digs this scene
I watched a couple of minutes and decided that I need to rewatch the whole movie.
And how sinister Norman gets when Marion says the wrong thing. He recovers the situation, but Marion is too distracted to notice his red flags.
No other Hitchcock film feels like this. Perhaps Frenzy with its sense of morbid dread.
“She’s just harmless as one of those stuffed birds” beautiful foreshadowing.
