Marie Curie – still the only person with two Nobels in two different sciences – was born on this day in 1867. Unbeknownst to most, she also invented and drove X-ray ambulances that saved millions of lives during the war

Millions you say?
X-ray ambulances totally sounds like something from Command & Conquer : Red Alert.
I did a paper on her when I was in high school. She was an incredibly impressive person, all the more so because of the period of history in which she made her accomplishments.
Tell the one about her pretending to be the maid when some important person came to call.
Linus Pauling also won two Nobel prizes, in chemistry and peace
Her remains were so radioactive that she had to be buried in a lead lined coffin. Her papers and even her cookbooks are consideres to dangerous to handle and are kept in lead boxes. They can only be viewed by someone wearing special protective clothing.
I knew that
“The more you know…”
I always thought she was French until I went to Warsaw
