Shit, I remember it, and first trailers and teasers were quite promising
I heard their server is back up a few months ago. Not sure if that is still the case.
If they had enabled local multiplayer, this game would’ve lived on as the gem it was, or at the least have made the servers publically hostable.
I remember playing the beta, I remember it being so bland and boring
Fuck I loved this game until the Wraith and subsequent glitches. Bucket was my BOY!!!
I remember being excited and playing and realizing i needed to pay for a character right after launch, in a game i paid for
Still my favorite asymmetrical, even though finding a worthwhile lobby was a chore.
One of my favourites games I had soooooo much fun on it ! I’m sooo sad they closed server…
Oh damn, I forgot about this game!
I miss this game, such a cool concept
this game had a mod in the dawn of fps it was called mutant in many arena shooters like Unreal tournament it wasnt very popular
realistic mods were the rage and tacti-shooters are still played by millions
The servers were turned on a month or two ago. Kinda weird how you have to play but thru custom games you can getbon their servers again. No joke, you can go and play right now.
Would love to see this in VR
Now do anthem. Rip
I was addicted to this game when it was first came out. I wish Evolve wasn’t collectively chosen as the “DLC bad” game.
In that reality L4D fail, no one want to use Steam, EGS is steam, Steam is EGS.
One door closed, another door also closed.
I loved this game, but goddamn did it get done dirty with the dlc.
Released today, nobody would bat an eyelid at their monetisation. I feel like it would have been a hit if it just came a few years later.
It was great and still is playable! I only wish it got a QoL update after the shutdown for the menus, so we could keep playing more easily.
That way they could even keep it on the store at reduced price or something.
Same thing with their other game, Back 4 Blood.
Loved the idea but I felt the actual playing of it was a massive disappointment
This game had some balancing issues, but overall I think it was a great idea. Shame it never really caught on.
What’s Abe’s handprint doing there?
Man this game was so fucking fun for three hours
No characters/monsters behind paywalls, just paid cosmetics… new events and even events where you can Earn seasonal skins. Maybe even a unique map where it’s Monster Vs Monster. The dream. I loved this game so damn much. Still have old videos saved from it. :'(
One of my fav games. 3 months before its death i was spamming the forums about changes that is needed to be done to keep the game alive, as i believed that the game was extremely flawed and 10 easy changes away from being a perfect game. Everyone trolled and shitposted my posts. I had stated that it would die in 4 months if no changes and it officially got dropped 3 months later my post. I am still pretty butthurt about not being taken serious
Still one of the best logos in video games ever.
The whole premise of the game is laid out in just the logo. It’s actually genius.
I never played it and I don’t like PvP but Daisy is one of the most precious creatures in video game history.
Nope, there was no universe where it would have been successful. It was pushed as an esport from day 1, before anybody had any idea if it was even worth playing casually, and then it died the death that every failed esport achieves, dead servers and no impression on the gaming community other than mild disgust. It was designed from the top down, with the intent of pushing a competitive multiplayer. The game was do de-populated that even the F2P patch failed, for a lot of the same reasons that the most recent Quake game did, niche core playerbase fucking demolishing anybody who tried to enter it, leaving new player turnover at a unmanageable level.
Crazy to see people have jank-nostalgia for games that feel so recent though. Time marches ever onward I guess.
It never would have been popular long-term. I could tell before launch that it wouldn’t last and i was always confused why people were so hyped for it.
