She was such a brilliant talent. She was always humiliated by the press, ended up with an eating disorder before she died.
She was brilliant and it saddens me that people laugh at her because of some awful rumour, rather than seeing her beautiful, immaculate, and powerful voice.
When you look at a person, do you see them for who they really are? When you call them beautiful, do you see them as so because of their kindness? Integrity? Talents? For their actions and convictions? If you see people like Mama Cass as ugly, it speaks much more about you than it does her. What a shame to live in this big world with its infinite possibilities and experiences and to be too stunted in one’s own shallowness and emotional immaturity to appreciate it. Mama Cass was an incredibly talented singer and performer and it’s discouraging to see her be the butt of so many jokes today. She had a beautiful soul and she surely deserved better.
She was considered the den mother for Laurel Canyon’s music scene. She was always making food and hosting traveling musicians. She was a giving person by all accounts. Giant singing talent (“Words of Love” really displays her gift). What a shame she died so young.
Jimi has some good abs here, but the overall pic has that uncanny valley quality.
Her first husband was Jim Hendricks. They probably had a laugh about that
*”Have you ever been experienced..?”*
Mama Cass laid down solid vocals for TM&TP her voice stands out
Priceless

And actually, she was gorgeous.
Bunch of fucking edge lords in these comments. Be better, people.
♥️♥️
She seemed like a woman with a heart of gold.
Mama Cass is easily one of my top favorite female vocalists
That voice and that guitar… Man, they should have formed a supergroup! Suggestions for a drummer, anyone?

“Mama cass was cooking up some of her spaghetti pie …me and Jerry Garcia were up all night doing cheese balls…that’s cocaine and cheese”
both gone too soon !!
She was such a talent and still hounded after death by a-holes
Beautiful photo of two immortal musicians shooting the breeze.

My all-time favorite song is her version of “Dream a Little Dream of Me.”
Simple, uncynical, and delightful.
Jimi sporting the six pack. Both could have made so much more amazing music.
In case anyone cares but is unaware; Cass Elliot didn’t much care for the name “mama cass”
Dream a Little Dream
Absolute legends-beautiful people, beautiful souls
*Cass Elliot
She HATED being called “Mamma Cass.”
Brilliant voice, brilliant guitarist, brilliant talents.
I love both of their musics
