Totally looks like there’s a trail
>NO TRAIL
And yet….

Could be completely washed out right outside the pic
I discovered that on one of my therapy drives I took while going through my mid life crises. Preparation Canyon State Park was a joy!
A sign can’t tell me what to do
Here’s a bonus perspective pic:

Beautiful.
We need to get ourselves to Iowa.
Loess is more prone to erosion than most other soil types. It will continue to erode even when covered in vegetation. When devoid of vegetation, like shown in the picture, it can rapidly become a gully. Do the park a favor and don’t tread that particular “No Trail”.
Or Trail
I’m a sign, not a cop.
*-points to sign labeled “NO TRAIL”-*
“What does that sign say?”
-*idiot looks at sign*-
“Special Trail Just For Me”
no trail porky
Wildlife: “HOLD MY DEER”
So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house “Hey! What gives you the riiiiiiiiggghhh…”
I lived in Sioux city for 10 years and spent a lot of time in the hills. I also loved Hitchcock preserve in the hills.
Stone State Park?
Guys? Do I believe my eyes or my eyes?
Where loess is more!
“Every sign has a history”
Ya, r/DesirePath would love this!
Is this Waubonsie State Park? I used to live 10 miles from there!
Where in western Iowa were you? I’m from those there parts.
Yes there is, I see it right there.
The Loess Hills in Iowa were formed by thousands of years of silt being picked up by strong winds in Nebraska. It was then deposited on the other side of the Missouri River in Iowa where winds would subside. These winds have since stopped and the hills have eroded due to rain and no more silt being deposited. It still stands true to this very day that everyone and everything will try to get out of Nebraska as long as it can.
The Loess Bluffs form the Eastern edge of the Mississippi delta. Natchez, Mississippi is the oldest European settlement on the Mississippi River, and sits high on those bluffs with a majestic view of the river.
Natchez is worth visiting.
Albumn covers be like
If no trail why look like a trail?
That looks speciously like a trail.
Well, not with THAT attitude, there isn’t…
So wind blown dirt is a scenic area in Iowa. Interesting. I guess anything that breaks up the flat looks amazing.
I see a trail.
Been to this sign many times and have watched people just ignore it. Such a shame.
I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this…
No happy ones anyway.
What about the blind people and braille on the sign. (Sarcasm people). Too much?
It’s right there
