I feel like a vast majority of the hate for this movie pre-release is coming from the decision to cast not Tim Allen as Buzz. Look, I get that Tim did a great job in the films, but from the Footage we’ve seen, Chris Evans is absolutely the best choice for the recast. He’s younger, and absolutely nails what Buzz should sound like.
Hell, in terms of what they are supposedly going for a “the movie that inspired the toy” the fact that Buzz the toy is not the same as Buzz the movie star is exactly what happened in real life with Woody (and Buzz to an extent) IRL Woody toys are NOT voiced by Tom Hanks.
But, I digress. This movie looks really fun. And, it’ll be nice to finally have Pixar give Buzz an arc that isn’t just him facing his former self in one way or another. Giving him something to do is something they’ve admitted to struggling with.
