This bit gets me every time. It is a masterclass in irony. The fact that they are trying to tell Liam that AIDS is too heavy for a comedy sketch, and yet that is central to the comedy of the is just wonderful.
This scene is one of the best 5 minutes of comedy ever recorded. My wife and I had to re-watch it after we first saw it. We still quote it, on a regular basis. Occasionally we’ve quoted it in public and we have to explain why being riddled with aids is freakin’ hysterical.
This show was way funnier than it was given credit for at the time. Still one of my favorite shows to this day, love Warwick Davis and his accountant is amazing.
I read a rumor a couple months ago (can’t remember where) that Liam Neeson had been in informal talks with Seth McFarlane to remake the Police Squad movies with Neeson as lead Frank Drebin. Sign me up!
The way LN commands the room and really makes you the viewer feel uncomfortable is amazing. I mean I could cut the tension with a knife and all just from a couple of sentences about never agreeing about a backstory.
What is this from?
I’m so glad someone appreciates this bit as much as I do. Having “full-blown AIDS” has been a running joke in my office for years now.
I wish the clip had the whole scene. It’s the funniest five minutes of television I’ve ever seen.
Haha! I love Liam Neeson, his small role in *Ted 2* is also funny.
he loves aids, huh?
The entire skit is absolutely hilarious. The grocer scene kills me every time: “knock knock”. “We’re closed”.
Thats Stephen Merchant, right? (Portal 2)
“I’m riddled with it.” Makes me howl every time. Every. Time.
Warwick’s reactions had me on the floor!!
By far the funniest scene in the whole series
What show? 🙏🙏🙏
The greatest part about Liam is that you could have zero indication of him being funny or serious as AIDS
“aids and cancer and famine are just not really subjects for comedy”
“well how does he get away with it then?”
“We don’t know”
Omg, I wish those two would make a series about a doctor and a hypochondriac

I literally watch this clip once a week. It is amongst my favorite things.
Can we go again cause you ruined it?!
Does anyone know where to stream it? I haven’t seen this show and now I need to. Looks like HBO is supposed to have it but doesn’t.
The joke always comes back full ~~circle~~ AIDS…
This video is how I gauge a persons sense of humor. I’ve shown this to so many of my friends and it’s either a love or hate reaction.
This show is severely underrated.
LOL, such a great show.
<trrrring>
<Deep Death Voice> WE’RE CLOSED
howllling
“Life’s too short” and “Extras” are brilliant.

I will never not laugh at this 😂😂
“Tring!” “We’re closed!”

When I first saw this it was one of the hardest times I’ve ever laughed in my life!
I always love Stephen Merchant’s straight man, but Warwick Davis makes the best facial expressions.
This is a masterclass in setup and payoff

“For the sake of comedy—perhaps it’s best if you *havent* contracted AIDS from an African prostitute.”
Gets me every time.
DivX brings back so many memories
Nuh uh, I wasn’t here. I was at the doctor. I got AIDS. 😂🤣
I spit out my drink on this. This was delivered and tied together very well.
>I was at the doctor. I have AIDS
LMFAO
Shame this show got canceled. Yet they made 15 seasons of Big Bang Theory and Two and a half Men
This comedy is dryer than a grandma at a Sunday bingo hall….. AND I LOVE IT.
Add the fact that Ricky Gervais is the least offensive guy in the sketch
