Excellent performances throughout the whole movie.
Never saw the movie but I’ve always loved the song. Seeing Lena Horne perform it just takes it to a whole new level!
From an age when when it was ok to call a woman beautiful & sexy & gorgeous. So many greats from this era my favourite lady day. My favourite Lena song is “It ain’t necessarily so”.
Annabelle Wallis preformed an absolutely beautiful rendition of this on a recent Star trek Discovery episode Titled “Stormy Weather”
I’ve always thought Alicia Keys would be great to portray her in a bio pic.
I’ve never seen this before, it’s fantastic but the Billie Holiday version is still my favourite
Sublime.
She was that great even in The Wiz, 34 years later. (Where they dressed her in maybe the ugliest costume ever.)
She is just wow. A voice like silk…and beautiful. Loved it!
Geez she was a beautiful person, beautiful voice.
This is a really beautiful interpretation of the song
Man, Lena even looked good when she was older! Like Fred Sanford says, “I can do without a lotta instruments, but I can’t do without a Horne.”
NP, enjoy.
