This is not exactly 1:1 with what Kareem did, they have changed the game dramatically for the last 20 years making it easier to score. That being said it is still impressive to say the least.
There’s a lot of people out there that won’t give LeBron his due. He’s an amazing player and a real force in the league. He doesn’t seem to the the personality of Mike, but Jordan is a huge huge asshole. LeBron is a guy who have traversed the league. He doesn’t have any huge scandals and plays hard. He’s not perfect, and no one is. Good for him in breaking the record, and Kareem is still the GOAT imho. One of the reasons that Kareem previously held the record is that he was goddamn unstoppable.
Kareem is still more impressive imo, as I’m sure he took maybe zero 3 pt shots.
I’d be curious what Lebron would be at without the 3pt fest the game turned into. The game is designed for easy scoring now, there is little to no defense anymore. So it’s just a numbers game, throw it up, hope it goes in.
Good for Lebron, just doesn’t hold the same weight it once did.
It’s interesting reading the mixed reactions to the stoppage of play for what is a milestone event.
Compared to what happened in Australian Rules Football when the all time goal record was broken back in 1999 (about a minute in): https://youtu.be/68uDD_cnpvc
That’s signature LeBron right there. We can complain about his attitude all day but there’s really no denying this man is one of the greatest athletes in human history.
Im most sports when you break those big all time records the game is stopped. I’ve seen baseball stop atleast 3 games for big records. I don’t mind it at all. It’s been 38 years in the making…
I think MJ and Kobe would have made sure to win the game on a night like that. This was actually an important game for the Lakers too if they wanted to have any chance at making it to the Play-ins.
Who gives a fuck!!!!
How long was the game stopped? The celebration should have been at the end of the game…
Still not GOAT
Now he’s got to work on Dr. J’s more impressive record of smashing over 10000 punanis

Was hoping to see a skyhook shot.

edit: I mean Kareem not Hakeem
I find it weird that they stop the game and do a championship celebration in the 3q
Zzzzzzzzz

Did the game stop when Kareem made his last shot?
What a disgrace this beautiful game has become.
NBA died when MJ left.
Kobe was his shadow.
Lebrone is the one left alone.
Just a different game.
Just to soft.
Bring back the good ol NBA.
I don’t watch basketball. I did back in the 80s. Seems like it’s more about individuals now rather than teams. I think this kind of displays that.
Maybe but he still isn’t a commercial airline pilot.

Compared to what happened in Australian Rules Football when the all time goal record was broken back in 1999 (about a minute in): https://youtu.be/68uDD_cnpvc
And more recently when another large milestone was reached last year: https://youtu.be/HgM3W6gnJGg
For me, its worth a celebration.
meh
Kinda weird that no one goes over to celebrate with him.
OKC was on a back-back. And still the Lakers lost? Congrats LeBron.

Rich people making rich people accomplishments he’s really furthering human development here. Maybe he should get a Nobel prize
He is now the highest scorer in NBA history but is he the GOAT.
I remember how hyped up LeBron was even in his early high school days. It’s amazing that he lived up to it and then some.
MJ is still the GOAT
Was it weird to everyone else that they just stopped the game for this? Am I the only one that thought that was strange?

All you haters will live forever in this man’s shadow if you keep it up.
MJ still the goat
That’s cute. Didn’t the Lakers lose?
Boring….btw did Kareem shoot from the arch alot?
Cementing his place one of the top 3 players of all time.

Number 34 is like.. Damn it.
good lord. finish the quarter?
Something something Wayne Gretzky.
Not like throwing a no hitter though. Everyone saw this one from a mile away. #teamnolanryannohits
STILL LOST TO THE THUNDER LMAOOOOOOOOO
