Lula and Sailor!
I saw this in the theater when it came out. My first Lynch on the big screen.
What a mindfuck, I was cackling with glee, couldn’t believe my eyes.
I just re-watched Wild at Heart for the first time since seeing it in the theater when it was first released. It actually stands up really well. Definitely one of Lynch’s most watchable films.
From an interview I saw recently Cage mentioned that he picked that jacket up in a used store years before thinking “One day I’m going to wear this in a movie” and when this role came up he suggested it to the director it for his character.
“My dog barks some… mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you might even picture Toto, from the wizard of Oz… but I tell you, my dog is always with me… WOOF!”
My friends and I saw Wild at Heart on its opening night at our local independent theater, we were all film and art students. There were a few elderly couples in front of us, probably subscribers to the theater’s ticket plan. We were giggling in anticipation of their reactions, since we were all familiar with Lynch’s work. They got up and left after the opening scene. It was probably for the best.
Laura Dern, along with Kyle McLachlan, has always been one of David Lynch‘s muses. Laura with Kyle in the twin peaks return, is the culmination of David Lynch’s storied in weird career. He considered The Return to be a feature film and his very last feature film. I hope he changes his mind.
These two are hotter than Georgia asphalt.
That’s not the usual pic we see from that shoot.
In the usually reposted pic, Laura has a handful of little Nicky(!)
Great photo! Laura was 21 or 22 and Nick was 24 or 25 here.
This is a snakeskin jacket! And for me it’s a symbol of my individuality, and my belief in personal freedom.
Goddammit. Nic cage is majima all along.
Sailor and Lulu are most def Old School Cool
This is a couple or from a movie? Because I would have never thought them as a couple.
Great film! Highly recommended!!
NOT THE B’S!!!!!
That’s from Wild At Heart
I can instantly hear “Sailor” in Laura Dern’s voice
Nick Fuckiiiiiiiiiiiiin’ (wooo!) Cage!!
The classic Holdo maneuver
Fact: Nic Cage has never not been Nic Cage.
Laura Dern was/is so fucking hot!
Willem Dafoe was creepy af in this film
They are gorgeous!

Has Tarantino ever given a nod to Wild at Heart for the True Romance screenplay? Or Tony Scott for inspiring the film?

Fucken Jack Nance. I love that movie so much.

These two have been this cool for that long? So jealous.

Was Nicolas Cage ever not cool?

We will never be that cool.
