Yeah that’s a rough one. It’s weird because by that point you’ve known for hours how it has to end for Arthur but that’s when you realise this is it and it hits so hard.
Yep… that’s how it goes with RDR2. RDR2 is still to this day one of my favorite games of all time. I’m not even sure they can top it, but I look forward to seeing them try someday.
I accidentally skipped this because there was a place to loot on the way, the second I got off my horse (like 50 yards from when the music started) the music stopped 🙁
This moment is probably the most magical story moment I’ve ever had in a game. I was really enjoying the game up to this point, but this was such a huge turning point. I don’t even understand why it was so powerful. It was such a simple sequence where you just ride for 5ish minutes. I was like ‘why am I crying so hard?’ during that ride. And then the game just stays that good for another 20 hours or so. A masterpiece.
I am just completely in awe that the game was able to rip into my soul in that way and I realized in that moment it was a top 5 game all time for me.
I’m not sure if this did it more for me or escaping with John and getting the “good” ending on my first playthrough. I just kind of sat there for a while…
A very emotional scene/ride ands easily can be missed if you don’t take the horse. This is a must play game. Definitely deserves game of the lifetime award.
This game. It was/is special. There are a few moments that grab you so deep. This ride in particular was SO HEAVY. Riding back to Shady Belle after Guarma was this intense mix of hope and heartbreak. Not knowing what happened to the gang, where anyone was, who survived… that fucking ride. Can’t wait for another play through.
Up until that moment, So Far Away from RDR1 was probably my favorite gaming moment of all time so I knew RDR2 would have to try and top it. And somehow they still managed to pull it off.
At the time, d’angelo hasnt made music in years and this song (iirc) was released about a month before the game came out. D’Angelos long awaited return to music threw everyone off a bit in anticipation of his return with this song including myself, since he was known more for RnB. But when this scene happens in the game it all made sense. I don’t think a song has ever hit me like that before.

Oh yeah, tearjearking
This is the way.
Oh just you wait. That game will make the hardest bastard a tearful mess
I really wish they would make this 60hz on Console.
I thought Far Away was the better version of this but it is a great sequence.
easily the most emotional moment in gaming.
Everything about this game is masterful.

Not that emotional but I do love going back to the money route, cause arthur just shouting and running through a forest shooting is just bad ass to me
Honestly it’s the saddest moment in my gaming history.
Most emotional moment yet…
This was one of the most memorable games I ever played. It felt like losing someone you actually knew.
Just wait, and you’ll find that That’s The Way It Is.
Oh just wait…
I’ve replayed this mission far more than any other. It’s magical.
I accidentally skipped this because there was a place to loot on the way, the second I got off my horse (like 50 yards from when the music started) the music stopped 🙁

Ride. Ride. Ride.
Welcome to the fold.
You’ll never look at other games the same again.
I don’t understand the lyrics.. “may I stand on chicken”??? What were they thinking
It was a great scene…
But it’s kinda doing what RDR1 already did. I felt a lot of the emotional music segments were kinda copy/pasted from the first game.
Still great. Just not as great the second time around.
I’m not sure if this did it more for me or escaping with John and getting the “good” ending on my first playthrough. I just kind of sat there for a while…
Yup literally made a Reddit account to talk about my feelings after finishing the game.
Gut punch

That’s the way it is.
I was late to the rdr2 cult as well and god damn does the cult have one hell of a reason to exist.
Cried for an hour after finishing this game.

What? Why? It’s not even an emotional moment. What?
My family starts singing this song anytime one us is on a long horse ride in any game.
Shit, I guess I’ll go back and finish this game
I got to when he got kidnapped and tied up and had to escape
Play till the end
You should play RDR1 lol
that game is really sad

I really need to find and play this huh? I’ve been trying to find an inexpensive physical copy ~ thanks for the thread
“May i, stand on chicken”
Means you played one game, congrats
