What a great photo. This woman fought NAZIS and won. The Soviet people sacrificed hugely to defeat Hitler despite their own leader.
For those who wonder; her name is Ludmila Pavlitjenko. If i remember correctly she recived that rifle as a reward together with the award Hero of the soviet union, but she more or less never used it as she prefered her mosin rifle.
There’s a memoir on her called “Lady Death”, if you’re interested.
Just wondering How did she pass away ? Did she die in battle? 🤷🏻♂️ . Snipers is a very risky task in battle.

She lived to be pretty old. There’s a great historical fiction novel based on her called “The Diamond Eye.”
Battle for Sevastopol (2015, 7/10 imdb) film features her as main character.
