In 1992 Cobain contacted Burroughs about possible doing a collaboration. Burroughs responded by sending him a recording of “The Junky’s Christmas” …William Burroughs recorded at Red House Studios in Lawrence, Kansas, on September 25, 1992. It was engineered by Brad Murphy. Cobain’s guitar part was recorded in November 1992… The two would meet shortly later in Lawrence, Kansas and produce “The “Priest” They Called Him”, which is a spoken word version of “The Junky’s Christmas”
so probably still in winter ’92 judging by the leaves on the ground. mild kansas winter i guess..?
thats a lot of crazy in one shot
H bros
I listened to that album they did together. Was interesting, I recommend it.
Kurt wanted Burroughs to star in one of the bands music videos I’m pretty sure.
Kurt better be careful. Burroughs was known for shooting people.
“There’s something wrong with that boy,” Burroughs told his assistant after Cobain left. “He frowns for no good reason.”
Can’t place an exact time in the 90s for this photo but can definitely say it was before April 5th 1994.
“Hey Kurt, why don’t you come back here and let ol’ Bill do a line off your boner”
I think this photo was taken in Lawrence Kansas where Burroughs lived.
I have their album buried somewhere in my CD shelf
The original Bill Burr

My dad drove Burroughs’ hearse at his funeral. Wild story actually.
Bunch of geriatrics with drugs and guns.
Shit I did not know Burrughs lived in Lawrence
Contain killed himself that’s how I know about him. But the other guy?
Most likely taken in Lawrence Kansas.
Fuck, this is amazing.
Trivia question: who died earlier? 😉
Nirvana played Kansas City Kansas (Memorial Hall) in late October 1993, so the fall leaves make sense in the picture.
When I die I become death, for death is the seed from which I grow.
