Just got this game two days ago and noticed it has the same plague of Horizon when it comes to climbing. “Well boy…this clearly easy to climb wood doesn’t have symbols on it so I just have no idea how my fingers can grasp in between those spaces that make it look like a ladder”.
its even worse in pokemon. like for the love of god you can burn the log, fly over it, walk on the grass, or fucking teleport but no the road is blocked
Does the new game make you walk real slow in some areas several times for what should really be a cutscene? That gem or whatever that cleared the darkness in the first game was so annoying
Every time I see some flimsy wooden gate that can only be opened from one side and can’t be smashed through, I die a little inside. Yes, gameplay progression and stuff, but at least make it look like an obstacle Kratos can’t tackle.
Game designers need to get better at this. Common, if you already make such beatiful worlds also think about immersion and coherence or just use your imagination like using magic, fantasy, sci-fi, nature or whatever stuff to explain and design plausible reasons I can’t go into a certain region now or because it’s the level/world border.
He gets angrier the more his mad or smth like that, although it still doesn’t fix the problem it could be explained by varying levels of strength. Also it’s a video game and needs obstacles.
This is just gaming in general, I still remember seeing a door in Falliut 3 that I couldn’t open even though there was a massive hole in the middle of it.
I’ve never played a GoW game before this one but I have I played games like Uncharted and Tomb Raider. But after playing some other open world games like BotW, the lack of freedom of movement is frustrating sometimes.
Like I get that it’s to encourage targeted exploration and creative solutions to get around certainobstacles, but there’s something so frustrating about being able to grapple/zipping up a fort, but not being able to walk over the 3ft rock right next to it.
I’m about 13 hours into the game. Shit like this is what makes me shocked to see so many 10/10 review scores. The traversal in this game feels like some shit out of 2005. It bums me out tbqh.
he knows his limits lol
this is like when my dad brags about all the yardwork but then sleeps for two days

Poptropica vibes

Games, huh? XD
I see the invisble walls more as places he doesn’t care to go to, since they mostly have a certain destination to reach
Kratos: Kills God’s because they pissed him off.
Also Kratos: Can’t pass a small plant
Well that’s a Ljoylfrgarher root. You need Lyferyr fused with Gleipner to cut through that.
Me when Poptropica:
He can technically just bulldoze through everything, but that would make the game 5 hours long
Kratos literally managed to held up all 9 realms at lake of nine but then proceed to get stuck by roots at tyr’s chamber
My thought is that it’s not that Kratos can’t go there, he just knows there’s no reason to because there’s nothing to find.
also in some scenes we see him jump pretty high
but then he needs a ladder, to reach a 2.5 meter tall ledge – much less than we see him jump, in the previous games
GoW has always been a “go this way” game so..
The art looks like it’s done by the guy who did art for Poptropica.
Anyone with the mastery of boulders gives up their master of wood. Ask Chris Redfield

Mfer has a 40 foot vertical leap in cutscenes but can’t even jump in game.
Kratos knows Strength, but not Cut.
I like the game.. but this is very common in GOW, and it’s just lazy design.
Like in Fallen Order when Cal constantly has to take the long way because of a locked door. You know, the guy who has a lightsaber.

Am I the only person who looked at the log and for a moment, saw a sperm, lined up to start running the 100-meter dash?
Ever heard of ludonarrative dissonance?
I’m going through God of War (PS4) for the first time and with how different everything looked I thought maybe he lost his power or something.
The he lifted a tree with no issue.
Atreus: Maybe you can use your axe.
Atreus: Use your Axe on that branch.
Mimir: Aye, looks like a job for the axe.
Atreus: Father, what are you waiting for, use your axe to cut down that branch so we can continue our journey.
Mimir: Kratos, have you forgotten how to use your axe, you bloody wanker?
After watching him cut that whale chain loose by casually sliding his blade through it, every obstacle annoys me.
DON’T TELL ME DOOR MADE OF A TINY IRON GRATE IS LOCKED MOTHERFUCKER! YOU HAVE A GOD DAMNED FLAMING UNIVERSAL KEY CHAINED TO YOUR ARM.

Kratos – *flips tyrs temple*
Also kratos – we gotta find a special item to break this rock
It looks kratos is being held back by his gods. The developers

Game is great so far, though, just different.
My axe is for chopping bodies, not wood
