I’m surprised that in America at least, these signs aren’t ubiquitous in public restrooms. Many American men really seem to have never been taught to lift the seat and it’s pretty common to find public toilets covered in piss.
Now, maybe this is a problem around the world, but I can only speak to my experience as an American. Many of you dudes are disgusting, and you can do better.
I was out for dinner once and saw one of these signs. Everytime I went to the bathroom I took it off the wall and left a few drops of pee in the frame it was on.
One of the greatest things I’ve ever seen in a public bathroom was in Seoul. In the Marriot hotel, lobby bathrooms had a button you could push that made a flushing toilet sound, pretty loud. Seinfeld crew would call that a “courtesy flush”. I still laugh about that.

The Korean text translates directly to “1 step closer. For a cleaner bathroom.”
