Just finished this amazing game, I’m disappointed a sequel was never made.

It could’ve been so good, but here’s a few details about what happened to the potential sequel.

Great game, BioWare in their heyday
A relic of the past, golden age bioware.
Best “evil” path of any game I’ve played.
This game is so slept on these days.
First game I ever bought for myself on Steam. What a nostalgia trip.
Oh, I remember going through it as a child with my father. However, I had to watch more often than play)
a great classic title for the XBOX
Gau may be Lesser, but he was Great in his own way
God I loved that game.
The one bioware game I chose the evil path in.
That damnn combat alway stuck with me

What a blast from the past! Man! 13 yr old me dumped countless hours into this game.
I’m quite interested in the whole cultivation world. I’d love to see a modern game where you build up your unlock your meridians, gather qi, build up your core, make breathroughs and epiphanys.
But I’m finding it hard to get an RPG with just mana instead of cooldowns these days!
I was evil as fuck my whole play through, then I decided to not wreck the whole world at the end and made me into a good karma character, I was pissed.
Man, I bring up Jade Empire all the time when discussing my favorite video games and it’s like no one else is even aware of its existence.
I really liked the grey morality system the game presented you with. Like— sometimes you’d make a decision thinking it was the obvious “good” choice, but in actuality, it was sort of foolish and led to a worse outcome.
And it was one of the rare games where the “evil” path didn’t feel unnecessarily cruel or narratively unrealistic. The story on an evil play through wasn’t an afterthought— it was just as satisfying and thoughtful as the “good” play through.
One of my favorites. Simple yet engaging combat and the story let me be mean. 10/10.
One of the best games ever.
Got two girls in the tent 🙂
Played it at least five times. Great game.
Somewhere in this game there’s a man who asks you to gamble and roll dice. A small glitch allows you to game him over and over, effectively fleecing him for, what initially appears to be, an infinite amount of money.
But there’s a twist. See the developers knew you’d do this. But they were only aiming for those who were truly committed to conning this poor man. So…after 20 times of save scumming/loading, with you winning each time… [He blows up](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26DsrylKKl8). Permanently.

GAME OF THE YEAR
New legends needed a sequel as well.
Does Bioware even make games still?
THE BLACK WHIRLWIND IS HERE!
Thousand Cuts was the first style I chose, then for evil playthru I used White Demon. Good times, even the mini game was fun.
Amazing game. Definitely in my top 5 Xbox games. Possibly top 3.
Beautiful game, beautiful soundtrack. I remember buying the cd just after the game came out, still listening to music from it every now and then.
Recently replayed it on the original Xbox, man the combat system felt clunky AF compared to today’s games 😅
I enjoyed it but I remember having to mod the game to beat it. I picked a companion that made no damn sense for my playstyle and I couldn’t beat two elephant guys I think? It’s a unique experience but Sleeping Dogs really scratched that itch.
I miss old BioWare.
This game was incredible! I had completely forgotten about it, I am 100% buying this immediately lol
Fantastic game but god damn did a certain part of the story have a flaw.
It’s funny how a games impact stays with you. I have zero specific memories about this games, just a thick haze of pure enjoyment and satisfaction.
Where did you play it? On OG console?
I wish someone would just make a simple remaster for this game. (Or whatever the one is where you update the resolution, polish the controls, and just do some quality of life improvements, without changing much else. I get confused with the terminology.)
It seems everyone forgot about this gem. I still think it ,overall, is one of the prettiest and well imagined games BioWare made.
This was my Avatar the Last Airbender sim.
I’m probably in the minority, but it’s nice to see a game (Ik Jade Empire is almost 20 years old at his point) that remains as just a standalone thing that doesn’t get turned into a franchise of a dozen sequels that go on forever.
Not everything needs to be a series or a franchise
I actually got my copy back when origin did free monthly games years ago. Got a few classics out of that setup.
While a deeply flawed game due to the constraints of the platform(they decided to stick with the original Xbox instead of pushing it to the 360 with a bit of extra dev time). It was still a true BioWare classic with some great world building and story. Of any of their games. I feel this is the closest to needing or deserving a modern full remake made out of love. With graphics, sound, and a world befitting such a beautiful setting.
Maybe one day someone will revisit this classic and give it the chance it never got when it initially released.
I finished it a couple of times as a kid. I will try to play and finish it again one of these days. Great game!
This game was amazing. 👏
They should revive this for sure. Open palm vs closed fist.
This is a hidden gem and if anyone ever finds themselves wondering, it’s absolutely worth trying.
Provided your need for gaming doesn’t resolve around graphics then the gameplay and story are really, very, very good.
