Game is so good it was my GOTY for 2020. Gameplay was a step up and super fun and the story was great. That ending was tough to get through. Still watch it on YouTube sometimes cause it’s such a good ending
The first one is one of my favourite games of all time. Amazing relatable story. Second one? Great graphics, gameplay pretty much the same as the first, but trash story.
It’s sad to see a divided community over this game but I loved it, can’t say much more then that, and I actually liked it as much as the 1st, and that’s an extremely high bar for me
Part 2 i enjoyed (though the story was back to front) but yeah, I simply wanted to die by the ending. If they’d put the story in the right order, at least misery would carry at least some catharsis
Loved both games for exactly the opposite reason lmfao. The first one had a great story, but I wasn’t so much of a fan of the Gameplay the first time around. The second one improved the gameay massively, but the story was way too muddled with themes, storyline and pacing, that it really had not a lot going for it and the pay off was rather weak, even though the scenes between Ellie and Joel was strong
[NakeyJakey Review](https://youtu.be/QCYMH-lp4oM) “While extremely beautiful, technically impressive and wonderfully accessible, the last of us part two is a game that attempts to say a lot of things and ask a lot of questions using the medium of video games but ultimately remarkably fails to find the language to say much at all while also being an often outdated and hypocritical parody of itself.”
The first Last of Us was amazing! From the game play and storyline, it was great all the way around! The perfect game.
Now Last of Us 2 was a huge letdown. It tried to make you sympathize with the enemy. Yes, there are always two sides to a story but we all liked the game because of Joel and Ellie. I hated the game when I had to play as Abby. Fuck Abby!
I like the first one story but the gameplay felt clunky tbh. I didn’t like part 2 as a sequel. If it was standalone with different characters or something maybe. But I don’t rate it highly as a sequel. Now let’s hope they don’t murder a ghost of tsushima sequel.
I binged 1 and went right into 2. So, I was kinda pissed about the choices she kept making lol. Then I read the developer talking about you should think of it as 1 is love, 2 is hate (paraphrasing). All of a sudden , it all made sense.
I mean, you only needed to play part 1, part 2 destroys everything the first game built. It completely contradicts the narrative and tone of the first game. It’s so sad the developers divided their own community like this.
My problem with the second is I didn’t need it. I’m about half way through and really can’t get into it. I don’t hate anything about it but when I finished the first one I didn’t need a second one. Joel and Ellie had a fantastic story and it was complete. Did I want another game in the same universe? Hell yeah! But it could’ve been anywhere and with anyone for me.
>…. as soon as a man lifts his nose from the ground and starts sniffing at eternal problems like life and death, the meaning of a rose or a star cluster—then he is in trouble. Most men spare themselves this trouble by keeping their minds on the small problems of their lives just as their society maps these problems out for them. These are what Kierkegaard called the “immediate” men and the “Philistines.” They “tranquilize themselves with the trivial”—and so they can lead normal lives.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If they really wanted to tell this story, then TLOU2 should’ve been Abby’s game entirely.
Imagine you play the whole game as Abby and her father and finally in a twist ending it’s revealed that Abby’s father is the surgeon. The last scene of the game is Abby watching as Joel drives away with Ellie after murdering her father.
Gameplay was good but that story was a letdown.
… this is why I still haven’t (and probably won’t) played
I never liked this game
story was kinda bad and the ending sucked. Hope they don’t make another one.
Fun fact Ellie is voiced by Petra from mcsm

On which difficulty?
Loved the first one. Loved the second one till something happened to my favorite character. If you’ve played, you know. Hated it after that point.
I just sobbed uncontrollably through both games. Beautiful. The only part in any game that outshines RDR2 for me is the story.
The ending blew me away.

Vengeance is bad btw

2nd was great. I love the changed in direction even regarding what happens to certain people.
It’s less anger and more uncontrollable misery and constant tears from what you just witnessed
First game was great.
Part 2 was the best game I ever played imo. This was after DS3, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, back to back to back.
Me after Last of Us part 2. That’s so true.
I have yet to play a game that has drawn me in like the first one
Part 2 i enjoyed (though the story was back to front) but yeah, I simply wanted to die by the ending. If they’d put the story in the right order, at least misery would carry at least some catharsis
“Last of us 2 is a game about right and wrong made by people who always think they are right”
-Some asshole idk

People hate on tlou2 for not being fan service
Second game is hot garbage. First game is 10/10.

Terrible story and writing. We all know why

did u hate it for the reason most ppl claimed to hate it? or was it the ass ending that did it? lol
Is it worth it? Can’t wait to play

before plqying the last of us : 😐
after playing the last of us : (nothing because i dont give a fuck about that game)
This is such a bad meme

-Ernest Becker, on why everyone hates TLOU2

Then the third game would’ve been Abby vs Ellie.
