Eck was from Baltimore MD. I think he lived there in the same neighborhood where he grew up until the crime got completely out of hand. He was in the 1932 cult movie Freaks.
Real story, a magician would use these brothers in what is perhaps the most realistic sawing a man in half routine ever performed. They’d call up the “full” brother, swap with Johnny in the box, and while he ran around on his hands a dwarf would run around with a pair of pants pulled up over his head.
Toward end of his career Johnny bought one of those 1/4 sized amusement park trains to take on tour with them. He loved driving the train because no one could see that he was special.
He lived to 79 and only died in 91!
I’d say that’s a half brother…
Damn. When his brother got mad at him, I really hope he didn’t say “you’re half the man I am”.
Dewey, you gotta be double great for the both of us
I don’t understand how a human could survive without at least the bottom half of the torso. Life finds a way, I guess.
Isn’t he missing some essential parts?
They should have treated him like a normal kid. No need to put him on a pedestal.
Oooh we’re halfway there, oooh can’t even sit on a chair!
He started eating him in the womb but got too full like 4/5 of the way through
That’s a Geodude
Johnny Eck was also a highly respected Baltimore Screen Painter.
Dewey, I’ve been halved!

The hospital was doing a “have one kid, get the other half off” special the day they were born.
It’s actually a pretty sad story. John really betrayed his trust and so he never stood by him again.
Look, don’t put me on a pedestal brother, I will always be the humble guy you always know…

Are we sure they aren’t… half brothers?
I’m cut in half pretty bad Johnny.
Obviously not identical twins. One has legs. I spotted it right away.
He had a really sweet role in the movie Freaks from 1932! He seemed like a really nice person and apparently later in life he became an artist too!
Guy on the left would be the fastest WR on the Chargers.
Someone skipped leg day.
Later they starred in a tv sitcom called “1 1/2 Men.”
Half brother?
Pretty sure he’s just Johnny Eck’s half brother
Twins? How can they tell them apart
You meant half-brother
*half-brother
So Darth Maul surviving isn’t THAT far fetched, huh?
He must have loved his brother to put him on a pedestal like that.
Meh, they were only half-brothers
