Glen Sherley still has 14 years to go…
I think Johnnys slippen him a pick?
In January of 1968 Johnny Cash played a concert inside of Folsom Prison. He had been given a song that was written by Glen Sherley – an inmate at the prison. Sherley was unaware that Cash was going to perform the song. Three years later Sherley was released from prison and had a bit of musical success before falling into trouble with alcohol, drugs and eventually violence. He committed suicide in 1978.

And don’t call me Sherley
I can smell this photo
Was Jim Marshall the only guy with a camera allowed near rockstars those days?
The Columbia country music producer, Bob Johnston, also called San Quentin but Folsom answered back first.
