Absolute legendary man
I didn’t see this until the day that he passed away. Then I saw he died and I was heartbroken.
Edit: [/u/TheGoldenHand](https://www.reddit.com/u/TheGoldenHand) is harassing me and spreading libel against Reddit sitewide rules. He is a troll. He’s been reported to mods of the subreddit and site admins.
A sober man that played a fantastic drunk. Shitticane is comin Randy and we gotta be prepared.
I aspire to be a crazy old scavenger who enjoys just tinkering or building stuff till the end of my days.
RIP
I remember watching this and thinking he knew his time was up then later on we lost him.
why you gotta go and make me sad
rip to a beautiful soul
Thank you for sharing this, OP, I had no idea he had a youtube channel. I’d been missing Mr. Lahey quite dearly. RIP to the realest, John Dunsworth was a saint for sure.
Shitwalls, Randers…
What a sweet mad old coot.
Went a whole two minutes waiting for him to slur his words and fall into the water and then bothered to actually read the title and realize it’s the man, not the character.
Seems like a genuinely good man. Thanks for the share, I’ve not seen this before!
“I have a very accurate case of low self esteem” man..
This is a favorite video of mine. He seemed like a wonderful person
Yep, seen it before… but watched it again with no issues.
RIP John Dunsworth
We still miss ya, bud
I hope that wall lasts for generations. He’s absolutely right there was something special about him building that wall.
Im mowin the air Rand, im mowin the air!
RIP to the legend. You could argue he was the best actor in all of TPB.
Definitely some bob ross vibes going on there
Randy, I am the seawall.
I think you meant shit wall.
>There’s my house up there. I built that myself.
fuckin’….4-storey house “built that myself” god damn what a legend.
When my wife and I were living in Nova Scotia, we met Mr. Dunsworth a few years ago, very briefly, at a theatre awards banquet in Dartmouth. My wife and I had walked into the banquet hall and stopped because we couldn’t see any empty seats anywhere. Dunsworth walked by (of course we recognized him from TPB), stopped, looked at us, and asked if we were looking for seats. When we said yes, he walked about 20 feet away, grabbed a couple of chairs we hadn’t seen, and pulled them over for us so we could sit. We thanked him profusely but he of course, being the kind soul he was, just smiled at us and said it was nothing, was glad to help, etc., and went on his way.
Obviously we didn’t know him personally other than through this brief interaction, but it was obvious even from that brief encounter that he was a kind and decent person.
A shitwall to keep out the shitwaves Rand.
This man took a shooter out of my belly button at a live show. A true legend and he will be missed.
Seen this before but had to watch again.
And 30 seconds in I couldn’t help but think to myself “That’s a fuckin nice kitty right there”.
I’ve just started watching Trailer Park Boys and it’s amazing.
Way she goes.
“Slowly but surely my friend, more slowly than anything else.”
I miss you, Mr. Lahey.
John your legacy far surpasses any stone wall. Thank you.
A fellow Nova Scotian — John came up behind me once at a thrift store when I was ~20, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, “wow, son, look at those foxy women!” — they were both easily 70+.
Another time I was “sailing” with a teen camp and his boat came howling around an island, he was hanging off the shroud and shouted, “hey, you kids want some rum?!”.
So hilarious that guy.
The rock work is impressive to see on google maps, I always wear a waist scarf when I’m doing heavy work like he says. RIP John!
I’m probably late to the party here but I helped him build the cement (flooring?) up on the wall. He would pay local kids to help with some of the work even though he never really had an end goal with it. He just seemed to like the work
Funny little story. I stumbled upon a sailing video of his, and thought, wait he has a YouTube channel! At the time, I had just broken things off with an ex whose family taught me the ropes of sailing. So I wrote him a note on Facebook asking about his specific boat details and if he’d ever sailed around the Great Lakes.
He wrote back in his own unique John-esque way!
“ennnnealio, tis a pleasure to have a missive from such an erudite one as thee. May I ask- to what sail video are you referring? jd
We had YEARS of back and forth Facebook messages. He even took the time to watch a trailer for a documentary I had made — using his craft of words to really help me shape my next steps as a filmmaker. He sent me his personal phone number to call if I ever wanted to talk. That, my friends, is one regret I will always have.
