When I’ve found double yolks, I’ve always had a few in the same carton. They seem to come in bunches.
Happens way more often if you buy jumbo eggs.

After having twin daughters, I have always felt weird eating double yolkers. I know it makes no sense.
Check the carton – you sure you didn’t buy a box of double yoked eggs?
They sell them
My brother has an egg farm. These are incredibly common. They just dont often sell them because they usually wont fit well in the carton.
On their farm, they give out the odd shaped or sized eggs to family. But if you find a really oversized egg (which older chickens tend to start laying odd eggs) i would guess it is like 1 in 3, maybe even higher you get double yolks
Jumbo pasture raised? I had an entire carton of double yolk jumbo Vital Farms eggs one time. The orangeness of the yolks make me think pasture raised.

I once received a full batch of about 15 eggs that were all double yoke. They were from some chickens kept in a friend’s family back yard. Very strange but I didn’t think that much about it when it happened.
That’s 4 yolks. That’s a lotta yolk.

I stopped eating eggs for a year because every single one in the carton was double yolked and it freaked me tf out. I feel better reading some of these comments that it’s common and now I’m thinking someone did that on purpose.
Growing up in farm country and buying locally, we had many double yoke eggs.
