It’s Al Pacino & Hank Azaria’s birthdays today, so here’s that scene from Heat (1995)

Azaria’s expression is genuine in his confusion, since he didn’t know Pacino would go off the way he did.
People give Pacino’s performance here a lot of shit for being so wacky, but what’s often lost on them is that the character had a cocaine problem. Mann knew that, Pacino knew that, but it’s not alluded to in the final cut of the film so he just seems like an insane cop or an overblown choice by Pacino.

The Vincent Hanna award is well deserved.
More expression required!!
Chris Ryan step on up.
Man, I need to rewatch this movie sometime.
Was Pacino trying to say “huge” but switched to “great” midway?
Still one of my favorites movies of all time.
The meeting between Pacino & De Niro in the cafe is pure gold.
